Pastors Rakesh and Preethy
Rakesh and Preethy through similar life changing experiences got saved by the grace of God at the same Christian Retreat in October of 1996. Following their individual encounters with God, a hunger and a passion for Him was birthed as God spoke to them about living a life for Christ.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
A powerful time of training, ministering and being planted in their local churches, gave way to open doors to minister in many cities. Both were involved in Joshua Generation Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Rajesh Mathew in the late 90’s , though Rakesh later moved to the Middle East.
Rakesh and Preethy met in January of 1998 at another retreat. Through various encounters and people God worked to bring them together in May 2000.
Rakesh and Preethy Kurian believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the answer to all people’s problems. Over the last 10 years they have been in many countries and have ministered the gospel wherever God has taken them. When the Lord brought them to the UK, God put East London in their hearts and instilled a passion for evangelism, discipleship and training. Through this vision and calling, Capstone Church was birthed to reach the lost in London and Worldwide.

Ruban and Ruth
Ruban and Ruth Soundarajah met in the Tamil Church Emmanuel Christian Fellowship, married in 1998 and began their ministry together as deacons ministering to and with teenage youth through a church plant in East Ham called eNeRGy (New Roots in God). They were involved in running yearly summer camps and various youth events including Soul in the City, a city wide initiative galvanizing churches all over London to reach the lost with the love of Christ in action.
In November 2005, Ruban and Ruth moved from Hertfordshire to East London when God placed a burden to take Good News to the people of Manor Park and surrounds. Though involved in various Christian projects, in 2007, God answered their prayers when they met up with Rakesh and Preethy who had a similar vision for London and beyond for Christ.
Ruth and Ruban’s biggest testimony is their son Ethan Samuel. Despite negative prognosis from medical specialists of ever having a child, they held onto God’s promises of fruitfulness and He was faithful. Job 5:9 “He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.”
Today with a calling from God and on fire to share their testimonies, they are passionate and committed to see God’s Spirit move and His Kingdom come. Matthew 10:7-8 “As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
